I want to be a HMG Poster
My name is Kurt and I live in Southern California, USA
I started programing on a Kaypro II-(CPM) computer with dBase II. Then MS-Dos with dBase III, FoxBase+, Clipper, and my last "Dos" programing language was "Force". A German compiler best described as a cross between C and Clipper. More low level power, much faster and great extra lib's, however able to use Dbf files. Made about 100 programs with Force. My need to wright applications retired when I did.
I now do it just for fun, personal satisfaction or a made-up need. For my photography I have over the years moved-upgraded about four programs that are use full. About a year ago I moved them from the "Dos" world to "Windows" with Harbour, still all console apps. I just finished moving one with "HMG". My first "GUI" program. I will post it in the "My HMG Projects" forum section.
I had "NO" success with using the HMG-IDE, too many years hard coding. So I started looking at the code snippets in the forum, reference pages, and samples. With my trusty program editor I decided to hand code the application. It works well, looks nice and I am overall happy with the results. I was thinking of sharing the code however over the years, have stopped using documentation, indenting, and all other coding techniques that make code readable to others. I would be thrown out of the forum for my coding style-example. Not to mention as my first program in "HMG", I probably did everything in some convoluted manner as apposed to the correct method. Probably more an example of how "NOT" to code. {** But the program does work! **}
I hope to expand my knowledge with the valuable input from members of the forum, and share useful things from my work experiences.
Thank You
Kurt

Hi Kurt:
Welcome to HMG fellowship.-
About writing the code, you can use IDE or do it manually.-
See all samples, and you'll realize there is not difficult on doing what you want.-
HMG is powerfull and simple. You only need time.-
With regards.
Eduardo

Hi Kurt,
Hearty welcome to HMG Forum.
Hearty welcome to HMG Forum.
East or West HMG is the Best.
South or North HMG is worth.
...the possibilities are endless.
