Thanks.
East or West HMG is the Best.
South or North HMG is worth.
...the possibilities are endless.

Is it possible, during installation of new releases/updates , to not override the (potentially modified) IDE's configuration file?Roberto Lopez wrote:Harbour MiniGUI IDE 2.5.7:

I think it's quite inconvenient, every time we have to install a new release, to lose our specific settings/preferences and have to reset them again and again..
Thanks,

Don't tire our master

HMG is a rapidly growning project. Everything may will change, even structure of configuration file.
Simply copy .cfg file to another place before, and restore after installing.I think it's quite inconvenient, every time we have to install a new release, to lose our specific settings/preferences and have to reset them again and again..
Even is this inconvenient for you ?

I must admit, I have had ignored this critical point. To be tiresome for the master, is a serious crime, (for every possible value of mastership..)esgici wrote: Hi Pete

With all my sadness, I declare myself "guilty" and desperately i beg your mercy.

Thanks, this is a good idea, and no, it is not inconvenient for me to do it, that is, to have a backup of my .cfg file and do an overwrite of the overwrite. However, I continue to believe that is a quality matter for software to not overwrite things during installation.Simply copy .cfg file to another place before, and restore after installing.

No need for allusions, implications. Everyone doesn't obliged to have a language skill as high as yours. Be honest and polite, sufficient.Pete-WG wrote:...
