Hi, everybody.
I am a computer programmer that needs to change my old Clipper projects to Harbour and HMG, urgently.
I am trying HMG 3.0.28, but, unfortunately some troubles and doubts were coming up.
I don´t give up easily. Those doubts about HMG I will try to eliminate them here in this excellent forum. So I beg you; Please, be patient to me.
Thanks a lot
Mota.

Hello everyone,,,
I'm a Clipper programmer and from the best I can remember,, the start. I used some version prior to 87,, then went to 87, then 5.01,, today 52e ..
Clipper has provided me a good living, and I've raised 4 children with it !
My customers are fortune 50 companies,, the biggest ... Right now as I type, I have over 25 mission critical applications that are running 24/7,, 365 .... It's all still Clipper 52e (dbfntx) running on XP enterprise ...
All these years,, I've enjoyed reliability beyond my best expectations.
The above is mentioned only to explain that I am scared. This success will not last forever, and It's time for me to extend these products to a platform they can survive on.
I started to change 10 years ago.. I spent thousands of dollars,, MSDN,, Delphi,, C++, VB,, even xbase++ ...
Like Roberto said in some of his writings,,, I became so disgusted with the concepts plus we were so busy with current development (still are),, after writing a few routines,, I just let it all sit ....
I am very interested in HMG, as what I've read and seen so far seems to be a very practical method to move forward from where I'm at ...
Thanks
Bill

Thank You 10X Rathinagiri,,,,
I have a lot of friends from India that work for Accenture (SAP) ... Our systems communicate back and forth a lot with SAP... We have a lot of fun sometimes....(and grief!)
I appreciate the acceptance to the forum.. I will be a slow starter as I try to grasp the entire thing right at first, then finally settle down and study what I actually will need..
Once I get my hands around this,, I will try to be a good contributor rather than dumb question asker !
Thanks Again,,,
Bill

Hello everyone
I'm an old dBase programmer, now retired, who came through the ranks of dBase, FoxBase, and so on up to Visual Fox 5.0.
My current needs are very simple. I've come here to find software that will allow me to programmatically modify tables without learning a new language.
I'm very pleased to learn that there is a community keeping the xBase language alive.
In addition to programming I have also worked as an editor. I would be happy to contribute time toward improving the documentation, which is lacking in places or is "linguistically challenged"
Ola a todos - Bonjour a tous.

Welcome AndyH:
Also that all developers need a tool-free as possible and not tied to Royalties. I come from tools such as Pascal, Basic, Foxpro ... VFP 6. I used to find an extensive documentation of product use. However, he found in HMG3.x Ease of use, but rather short on the documentation in some of the instructions. I'm also happy to use HMG soon to be migrated to HMG.4 with something wonderful called QT.
Greetings
Español
Bienvenido AndyH:

Hi all:)
I live in Torun (Poland).
I write in the Clipper. Clipper is the best language for desktop applications (in my opinion).
Sorry, my English is weak, but it should suffice to reading:).
HMG appears to be a good continuation CLIPPER for database applications.
I hope that I can "make" something useful for the rest of the lovers of this language....
