how create own lib?

When programs are written, a bit of features that are useful in other programs are written, I'm thinking of putting them all in a library and avoid constantly copying the program when I start to do something new
Is it a good practice to create something like hmg32.hbp and add it to hmg32.hbc (in hmg folder)
