I did not know you could get the source code from the exe, how to do that? to test and see how to protect!

I remember using such software about 25 years ago! It was a commercially available program that was specifically written for xbase/Clipper code, which reverse engineered a targeted .exe file to produce .prg file code which could then be edited and recompiled to create a new .exe file. (I got it because I'd lost some source code and was desperate to get it back to make changes!)
As I remember, it wasn't actually very good, and I only used it once or twice. I have no idea what the program was called, but I'm sure that there are people out there creating such things. I'm not sure that there's much that could be done to stop it if someone who knows what they are doing is really determined!!

It was called:

but only for Clipper S87 & CA-Clipper 5
I do not know of anyone has decompiled some .exe for windows
