That's nonsense! and quite premature, if not completely false, misinformation, too.
Win32 appls (and OS support) will be here (any way or another) for at least a decade, probably much more.

I read the articles linked in the post. As mentioned there a lot of times, the new Windows shell and the new Polaris core OS will support win32 apps one way or another(either via virtualization or natively).
I don't think the market is already at the point where 32bit apps will go extinct. There are a lot of users out there still using 32bit OS and apps. I agree with Pete's opinion that such a move would be quite premature at this point.
Remember how long were the 16bit apps supported by 32bit OS? It's not easy to force the market to do such transitions.

Agree fully.
16bits are still supported via dosbox etc., our company still use some. And stopping 32bits is like killing the development altogether. MS is not going to do it for its own sake.
