SAMPLES REQUIRED

Post by Roberto Lopez »

Hi All,

If you have some sample that you want to contribute to HMG, please, post on this thread.

There will be three categories:

1. Samples:

IMHO the samples should be created mainly to 'teach' users about HMG features, so, it should be use standard features, with no low-level dirty tricks, must include adequate credits for the author and the same license as HMG.

2. Proposed HMG Features:

These samples must be designed to show and test proposed new features for HMG and could include replacements for HMG core files, it must include adequate credits for the author and the same license as HMG.

3. Proposed HFCL features:

Proposed new features for HFCL library. It must include adequate credits for the author and the same license as HMG.

I'll publish selected new samples from the next 3.0 test release.

Thanks in advance.
Regards/Saludos,

Roberto

I think, changed sample about rdd.sql\mysql with record locking should be included into HMG. There are few things to rebuid, I'll work over them and I'll write when I finish...

Best regards, Marek

Hi Roberto

I made little sample few days ago. It's "Life Length Predictor" :) (how long you can live if you "smoke/don't smoke", "drink alckohol never/tome-to-time/often"... etc).
I borrowed it from one Russian medical site (I don't know - is it truth or no?).
I demonstrated in this sample my "auto-zoomed" technique (I wrote about it some months ago) - it's other than using simple SET AUTOADJUST clause (my trick seems to me more accurate - but it needs some more coding)... And it is good toy of course :)
I began to translate it to English today - but I think I'll post it on Monday (I hope).
Right now - two images (how it looks with 800*600 and 1027*768 screen).

Hello Roberto,

Thanks for your request :!:

Please be so kind to review a sample ListView sort column's order at runtime at this forum
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=59

It seems as Proposed HMG Features 8-)
This sample was adapted for official HMG by me and have the same license as HMG, of course.
Kind Regards,

From the next release will be a new folder (\hmg\proposed.features) and your contribution will be in the 'grid.sort' folder.

Thanks!

This is my humble opinion and request with regard to samples.

The directory structure of HMG samples is somewhat very long (thanks to Roberto for having created all these samples to show the power of HMG) to me. We can create one directory for one control/feature and if that control/feature has two or more related samples, that can be put in a sub-directory with relevant feature in the name of the folder itself.

For example, Browse control has 26 samples and grid control has 23 and many others are having more than one sample. If we want to see which grid sample is for which feature, as of now we have to go through each and every folder, checking every sample.

For simplifying this process, I want to create a model folder of samples and post here. I am not creating any sample. It is just restructuring. If it can be adopted in HMG, I would be happy. :)
East or West HMG is the Best.
South or North HMG is worth.
...the possibilities are endless.

Good words, Rathi!
I agree with your viewing of "model structure".
