Roberto.
Is it possible, during installation of new releases/updates , to not override the (potentially modified) IDE's configuration file?
I think it's quite inconvenient, every time we have to install a new release, to lose our specific settings/preferences and have to reset them again and again..

Thanks,

Pete

Hi Pete

Don't tire our master :)

HMG is a rapidly growning project. Everything may will change, even structure of configuration file.
I think it's quite inconvenient, every time we have to install a new release, to lose our specific settings/preferences and have to reset them again and again..
Simply copy .cfg file to another place before, and restore after installing.

Even is this inconvenient for you ?

I must admit, I have had ignored this critical point. To be tiresome for the master, is a serious crime, (for every possible value of mastership..)
With all my sadness, I declare myself "guilty" and desperately i beg your mercy. :(

Thanks, this is a good idea, and no, it is not inconvenient for me to do it, that is, to have a backup of my .cfg file and do an overwrite of the overwrite. However, I continue to believe that is a quality matter for software to not overwrite things during installation.
