a greeting to the whole forum

I transferred some files from my PC to a PC in another country the download was a success the two PCs at the end turned off as it had been programmed.

I want to share with you my work and I know it will be strengthened and improved by others.

Hello Brunello,

Very good work! Many thanks for sharing.
It is highly interesting, yet a bit complicated to use it.
I did compiled both server and client applets and after several 'shootings in the dark' on the settings,
I managed to make use of it on my LAN, yet I'm not sure that I did exploit it properly and/or completely.
-- and please don't ask me to repeat what I did, I couldn't easily do it! :-)
So, would you be so kind as to provide a simple, comprehensible, step-by-step guide to get the 'whole system' working?
Also, it 'd be great to share your experience with RADMIN VP, which is, in my opinion, the most interesting part of the story!

(PS. yes, I did read the readme. It helps, but needs quite a few clarifications).

regards,
Pete

Hi

the readme file is explained in a very simple way. I don't understand why it's complicated.
After configuring IP there are two things to do:
1. upload
2. download

To load where
- open the upload folder
- Press upload and wait for the upload to finish

To download select the file you want to download and press start download.

If you have network problems it depends on other causes.
Remember Microsoft, for security reasons, has disabled some features that were previously available.
I also have the same problems. That's why I had to use Radmin.
It's small free and easy. I don't know more and I don't care. Years ago I used Hamachi but now it has some limitations and I don't like it.

Hi Brunello,

Ok, perhaps `complicated` isn't the exact word describing the program.
It follows a sophisticated way to do file transfers which, at first sight,
isn't so intuitive .
The good thing is, it certainly can be used as a base ready for modifications
and enhancements by adding, for example, miscellaneous automation,
security restrictions, quicker usage etc - etc...!
I'm sure some folks here shall do it. and If they do, we hope they will share it. ;)

In any case it's an exceptional contribution.
Again, thank you very much for sharing!

Hmm, from what I see in their site, RADMIN is free only for 30 days.
(unless you know something else so you tell us! :))

regards,
Pete

I can't ask you to improve and upgrade my program as you should study how to use my library and I certainly don't think it's your purpose.
My program basically says two things:

1-how to store a file in a dbf
2-how to recreate it with the reverse operation.

If you study more carefully the Upload and Download procedures you will find many answers to your questions.
I suggest you do one thing: create your own procedure where, after creating the dbf, you will have to memorize the file.
After you've managed to perfect it, you'll have to do a procedure that does the reverse.
After sure you will have more specific questions to ask me and I will be able to answer you.
