Hi Friends,

We are pleased to announce a new build of Harbour MiniGUI Extended Edition.

It is a regularly scheduled maintenance release.

Here's a breakdown of some of the modifications in the build 18.08.
For the full list, please see the changelog.

* Fixed a resource leakage at a long changing of a notify icon.
It exists in the official version too.

* Fixed processing of the 'ColumnWidthLimits' property in a Grid at the
column's adding/deleting.

* The Grid control supports the optional Grouping feature.
As its name suggests, this feature allows you to group items based
on a particular information.

* Added possibility to set/get the following properties in the
Grid and Browse controls at runtime:
- PaintDoubleBuffer;
- CheckBoxEnabled;
- HeaderDragDrop;
- InfoTip.

* It is possible to assign any data type or a list of data
in a Label control (synchronized with Official HMG).

* Improved function cValToChar() and updated the TSBrowse library.

* Added the new interesting samples and updated some Basic and
Advanced samples.

A setup of the build 18.08 for Borland C++ 5.5.1 is published at
the following URL:

http://hmgextended.com/files/CONTRIB/hm ... -setup.exe

And you can also download from the new mirror:

http://hmgextended.org/files/CONTRIB/hm ... -setup.exe

There are also an extra xHarbour.org-based archive for this build and
Minigui Ex build for the free Embarcadero C++ 10.1 Berlin compiler at
the Minigui's download page.

This release is considered stable and ready for production use.

The upgrade to this build is recommended.

Thanks for your attention and support!

Grigory,

As always, thanks for your long-time / dedicated / great work.

Do you know if some user-built MiniGUI for MingW exists?

TIA.

Ave Masters,
we the simple users salute you. :mrgreen:

Forgive me for jumping into thread, just saw the `MgM` is referenced by Grigory,
and I 'd like to add a comment on it, since I happen to be the maintainer of this repository at GitHub.

Before anything, I'm very glad to say that it's based on Grigory's exceptional work.
Which in turn it's based on even more exceptional work of Roberto Lopez.
Thank you (both) very much, guys! (err.., masters I mean.. :D )

I am using this mingw-compiled minigui "flavour", in production, for some years now, with very good results;
no problems whatsoever! (I named it "MgM" just to be distinguished from BCC minigui version)
Currently it's in synch with 18.01 version. Unfortunately, I have run out of time (and energy) to keep synchronizing it with newer features
and all the significant updates that are constantly made by the tireless in their great work, Grigory and the rest minigui-team.
Few months ago a fellow have made a try to update to 18.03 version, which i had no time to review and merge.

Anyhow, this is a stable and well tested piece of software; after all, it's based on the legendary Harbour MiniGUI. :-)

Let me suggest to try it and ideally, update it to recent 18.08 version. It's not difficult; you (anybody, I mean) can simply fork it
and work on it by your own.

regards,
Pete

I love MingW.

The idea of a fully open source/free compiler, captivated me from the first moment I knew it could be used with Harbour

Lorenzo Fiorini helped me a lot in the creation of the first functional MiniGUI library version for MingW in 2005 (called HMG from then).

13 years and counting... no complains! :D
