Yes, I am here.

For the past few days, the number of spammers are increasing, I don't know why. :(

I had banned them, deleted the posts (about 30 posts! :o), deleted the user ids too. It is from some russian ips.

I have one idea in my mind. If you agree we can follow. We can have an introduction forum, in which all the new members have to introduce themselves along with their HMG experiences/expectations like that. Then only, we shall allow them to post in other forums.

This would make the spammers to be restricted within this introduction area.

Rathi, I am an ordinary member of this forum. I am agree with you. :)
More than that, this will restrict some "busy and lazy" programmers also. ;)

However, anybody can see all the forums of the Board. If one wishes to participate in the discussions, I think an introduction is not a big deal. :)

Can we do something like "Your post will be published after the approval of the moderators", and hold the post until the moderators gives green signal. And this restriction of posts should be applicable to all the new unknown members. Moderators will take the decision in coming days whether to allow that new member for instant posts or continue with "post under moderation...".

If you moderators can configure this forum like that, then it can prevent from spam posts......

Regards,

Swapan

Swapan, in your proposal, the moderators have to see each and every post by the new members. In the case of my proposal, it is an one time approval per user to post in all the forums.

Let Roberto decide. :)

Hi All

IMHO proposal of Swapan is applicable. Moderation may be applied for not all post, only posts of "new" members. If we have a possibility for "classify" members as "approved" and "suspicious".

Hi Rathi,

More SPAM!!!

And the SPAMER knows we are thinking about some actions!!!

The SPAMER always adds "New Topics". He never replies any topics. IMHO, this symptom will be helpful to restrict him (or it, if it's created by software).

We all must take some strict steps to stop those evil persons!!!

Waiting for message from you and Roberto.

With best regards.

Sudip

I agree. I guess that is a good idea.
