Dear friends,
has anybody experience with flagship by multisoft? They promise a migration from DOS to GUI without changing your clipper-code.

No, I do not intend to go flagship, I just would like to know. BTW, it's commercial, not freeware.
And what are the advantages of OOP? In my mind, for OS-programming ok, but for ERP-programming? Maybe you can show the facts.

For me HMG is the best choice.

Thank you.

Robert

Robert,

Did you try the free test version? Hard to believe that no changes are needed..!

When our company was looking for GUI mode for our Clipper codes, we tried Flagship also. I can say it did convert most clipper dos codes to windows look like interface without much changes. But it was not a good look, so we looked else were and found Xbase++ commercial for our company codes.

Anand

Hi Serge,
No I didn't, in older publications they offered free versions for students, but no longer do so, I gave them a call last summer. Besides, you can't take benefits from the enhancements that were brought to harbour since the old clipper days.

Hi Robert,

Early eighties the company I worked for had a Siemens BS2000 mainframe which was to be replaced by an IBM mainframe.
The Siemens-Cobol programs would then be converted to IBM-Cobol programs which would be piece of cake. Cobol is Cobol.
It turn out to be not that easy as expected and many programs had to be converted by humans...
