Improved interfaces / Mejora de interfaces

Post by luisvasquezcl »

Hello everybody,
I have tried to improve the interfaces of my application
trying to take a little look and native windows
make something more like the Web, but it is impossible, so
least for me.
The site uses many images and it greatly improves the handling of
colors and shapes.
Someone can bring any idea to be improved
aesthetics of our applications?.
Greetings,
Luis Vasquez

Saludos,
Luis Vasquez

Hello Luis

For a building both reliable and beautiful, need two separate person: one engineer and one architect :)

This is a very expensive ... lol
You can make interfaces better aesthetically.
I have seen in the photos forum yahoo.groups a colleague who did a very good interface, I do not know if it works or not but it looks very good.
Trying to do something, I tried to put such a background jpg image and bitmap images for links but it does not work 8 (. You can superimpose images in HMG and less to do layers, I think, it seems to be waiting for hmgscript to put some style into our web applications.

The idea was to make a desktop-style windows to try to put image over image, where the user can put icons on the desktop, move them, etc. ..
To improve the interface obviously put a background image. Jpg and put it on image control with a click event.
It demonstrates each of the controls but when you click on them, simulating the desktop icons do nothing, it's as if the background image covers.
I will continue testing with other controls to see if I can achieve better aesthetics, for example, make buttons instead of image controls ...
we must try.

Understood.

Instead of ACTION | ONCLICK | ON CLICK event of background image, do you tried using ON MOUSECLICK event of window itself ?

GRACIAS!!

Saludos !!

TADUCCION SEGUN GOOGLE
Hi, I'm Adrian Buratovich, and I thank them for all they have done and are doing for the development of Clipper. Beyond the personal backgrounds and experiences of each xBase programmer, I think we all share the same philosophy of work and that is why I want to express my gratitude. THANKS!

I tried the 2.0.02 version of the library 98/Me/XP environments and have been surprised by the results. I decided to update its version to start "formally" the development of MS-Windows interface to this library for a project in which I work. My intention is to use the IDE for the development of interfaces and use the standard file (. FMG) generated with it, for its integration with my book xBase.

I downloaded the latest version of the library (2.6.7) from http://sourceforge.net/projects/harbourminigui, and the IDE (2.6.4) but I've since http://harbourminigui.googlepages.com/ide.zip found some problems that I would be looking at the forum.

Meanwhile, I began the development of new interfaces with the old version. The logic I use is that of <frame> HTML design of the form as if they were web pages, where each HTML-FRAME-equivalent to a HMG IMAGE. Jpg files with small objects in image achieves the same result as that obtained in web browsers with <body background="archivo.jpg">. This is just a start, but it gives a look similar to the websites of basic design.

Greetings!

Hola Adrian, bienvenido.
Luis Vasquez
Hi Adrian, welcome.
I'm glad you've chosen HMG, is a great bookstore.
Anyone who has any credibility is the creator Roberto Lopez
HMG.
You will find that the development is to HMG
extremely fast, easy and intuitive so soon
you can not quit.
About using html frames and I would like in your applications
you could upload a picture and a small piece of code
out of doubt.
Well, we are in contact.

DEFINE IMAGE oimgPie
ROW 520
COL 0
WIDTH 780
HEIGHT 50
PICTURE "imagenes\fondo07.jpg"
HELPID Nil
VISIBLE .T.
STRETCH .T.
ACTION Nil
END IMAGE

DEFINE IMAGE oImgLogo
ROW 525
COL 10
WIDTH 40
HEIGHT 40
PICTURE "imagenes\logo02.jpg"
VISIBLE .T.
STRETCH .F.
ACTION ( MsgInfo("Ejecuto algo") )
END IMAGE

Saludos !!

TRADUCCION SEGUN GOOGLE

Thanks Luis, it is very gratifying for me to contact you.

I have two screenshots (jpg) as an example of two basic structures of interface design (HMG and HTM) in the attempt to achieve similar user experiences for my applications, but we do not find the options for uploading to the forum! . Anyway its description of the three horizontal areas as head, body and foot, which will be distributed features of the application. In the bottom left (in the footer area), is a logo that allows the call to a process hosted on a website as a way to integrate MS-Windows interfaces and processes of local and online registration.

The problem that you mention are real, as well as the need for the user to interact directly with images (as is used in the Web interface).

Regarding the error, run-time shows that, depending on the order in which objects are defined IMAGE, they behave as you described it:

Example: If defined as the 2 images below example:

DEFINE IMAGE oimgPie
ROW 520
COL 0
WIDTH 780
HEIGHT 50
PICTURE "images \ fondo07.jpg"
HELP Nil
VISIBLE. T.
STRETCH. T.
ACTION Nil
END IMAGE

DEFINE IMAGE oImgLogo
ROW 525
COL 10
WIDTH 40
HEIGHT 40
PICTURE "images \ logo02.jpg"
VISIBLE. T.
STRETCH. F.
ACTION (MsgInfo ( "start something"))
END IMAGE

(Equivalent to pure code for the page used as a foot in Web environment: <html> <base <body target="_blank"> background="imagenes/fondo07.jpg" bgproperties="fixed"> <a href = "start something">< img src = "imagenes/logo02.jpg" border = 0> </ a> </ html>)

OImgLogo The image is displayed on the image oImgPie but does not run the scheduled action. If the order of definitions, oImgLogo image is not displayed because the picture shows oImgPie ahead. But in this case, if we place the pointer over the area where the image should be oImgLogo and we click, the action is executed.

On February 10, 2009 I sent a report with some problems that I found when using the IDE to generate interfaces to address harbourminigui@gmail.com (presented in the title bar of the IDE) but I do not know if that is channel bug reports because I have not received a reply. I have found other possible locations for the transmission of such reports as <hmg_bugreport@ciudad.com.ar> mentioned in the file bugreport.txt distribution of the book and http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?atid = 473940 & group_id = 54496 & func = browse mentioned on the site from where the distribution of low bookstore. As yet I do not know where to report these things (Do not know where to send reports!), I commented here that, in respect of errors in the processing of images, there is something similar in time of publishing the IDE (in 2 versions) . No display objects IMAGE loading a form after closing it.

Playing the error:
01) Create a form on objects IMAGE
02) Close the form
03) To accept the changes made to update
04) Reload the form on double click on browser project.

Comment:
01) The code generated by the IDE contains definitions of objects when IMAGE is shown with the View / code form.
02) The objects created in the object browser.
03) When you activate an object image from the object browser, showing the points of change in position and shape but is the visible area of the object.
04) When you click on the area where he had located an object image, just the objects that it has amended a property responsive to the event, but without his white area.

Well, if anyone can guide regarding my limitations, I would be grateful to ... Do not see the option to upload attachments to forum! ..... Do not know where to send reports !!... and all because ... Do not speak English !!...

Greetings!
