External Editor Setting for "Beginners"

Ok let me start...
Because I initiate from a generation with hard Disk up to 100 megabytes Floppys 5 1/4" and MSDOS 5.0 my brain has become fosil will I need some updates - really it's a joke i start from before that era .
Once upon time a editor ... and the cuestion is how set it ... i guess logical should be export all my sources apps code to unicode.
Some advice about it ?

PD: Don't worry about editor brand or model , normally use Notepad++ or SynWrite ... ( i miss TSe /Qedit ).

Debido a que inicie desde una generación con disco duro hasta 100 megabytes Floppys 5" 1/4 y MSDOS 5.0 mi cerebro se ha convertido en fosil, voy a necesitar algunas actualizaciones - realmente es una broma , empece antes .
Érase una vez un editor ... y la pregunta es cómo configurarlo ... supongo que lógica deberia ser exportar todos mis fuentes a unicode.
¿Algunos consejos al respecto?
Disculpen mi inglés.

PD: No se preocupen por la marca o el modelo del editor , por lo general use Notepad++ o SynWrite ... (extraño el TSE/Qedit) .

Yo personalmente utilizo el Boc de Notas je... je...

salvo el Proyecto principal como "main.prg" y luego compilo con
build.3.4.3.bat ---> contenido el Path donde tengas HMG :

@ECHO OFF
call c:\hmg.3.4.3\build.bat Main %*

y de maravilla che

First thanks for the reply but let me explain better.
I see before, when you try to show charcters like Ñ or acents .. or some chars to make a square border ( from original clipper source ) that no show good once compiled with harbour.
I Try to folow some samples adding intrucctions read here but now don't being well and show other chars.
Reading some how set editor here and somebody write about code char for sources ... utf8, ansi or unicode .. and may be there is the point for my cuestion.
How set my text editor and how set my harbour ide to show correctly in termonal mode.

En primer lugar gracias por la respuesta, pero permítime explicar mejor.
Cuando tratas de mostrar caracteres como Ñ o acentos .. o algunos caracteres para hacer un borde cuadrado (de la fuente clipper original) no se ven bien una vez compilado con Harbour.
Trate de seguir algunos ejemplos añadiendo instrucciones leídas aquí, pero no dio resultado y muestran otros caracteres.
Leyendo algunos ejemplos de cómo configurar el editor y alguien escribio algo sobre código de carateres para fuentes ... utf8, ansi o unicode .. y puede ser que ahi este el punto de mi pregunta mal hecha.
Cómo configurar mi editor de texto y mi ide harbour para mostrar correctamente esos carateres en modo terminal.

Yo salvo el "main.prg" en ANSI -> Por defecto Bloc de Notas de Windows

para el tema de las Ñ y acentos
al principio del prg colocas

Thanks again for your help.
I have reviewed my source code and found the problem.
It was the use of Extended Ascii characters that do not have their equivalent in other codes eg "¢" corresponding to the "ó"; "£" to "ú", "¥" to "Ñ"; Also the edges / corners do not match ... so choose to replace them with the closest thing you can do (just to keep looking at DOS terminal more like it).
Your advice was accurate and effective.
And we can give this post by closed.

Gracias de nuevo por tu ayuda.
He revisado mi codigo fuente y encontre el problema.
Era el uso de caracteres de Ascii Extendido que no tienen su equivalente en otros codigos por ejemplo "¢" que corresponde a la "ó"; "£" a la "ú" , "¥" a la "Ñ" ; tampoco las lineas / esquinas de bordes coinciden ... asi que opte por reemplazarlas por lo mas parecido que hubiere ( solo para mantener el aspecto a terminal DOS mas parecido ) .
Tus consejos fueron precisos y eficaces
Y podemos dar este post por cerrado.
